“MINE” — A Shiver-Inducing Snapshot of the D/s Dynamic (Dominance & submission)
In my opinion, this work by Alvaro de la Herran for GQ Spain, beautifully captures the beauty and eroticism of the D/s connection and dynamic — much more so than anything portrayed in the movie, “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Why am I sharing this with you today? Because it’s a four-minute video of heart-pounding, shiver inducing art. If you think D/s is all about whips and chains and pain, you’ll be very surprised.
I imagine that some of you reading this are curious or inclined towards BDSM (Dominance and submission in particular), but don’t understand these desires and cravings yet — especially if you’re freshly divorced and the marital sex life you left behind was stiflingly vanilla or non-existent.
Some of you, however, may just want to take your relationship and sex life to new and imaginative places. Within the safe cocoon of a loving, trusting relationship, Dominance and submission can add creativity and intensity in endless ways…
When I first viewed this clip two years ago, the film based on my book — which chronicles my initiation into the post-divorce world of dating and D/s — was a month out from production. I sent links of this video to both the executive producer and director of my film. Both men were titillated and impressed with Herran’s work.I know it influenced the creation of my movie, even though I had no say in any of it. I commend them for the job they did on the trailer.
Ironically for me, a year after first viewing “Mine,”I began writing my novella about a mesmerizing Spanish Dominant named “Mr. M“. I wonder now how much Herran’s video affected my powers of attraction. For my Spanish Dominant, unlike the one in the video clip, wasn’t an actor.
